STOP WOLF SLAUGHTER IN ALASKA

Alaska is the last place in the U.S. where a few hunters still use aircraft to chase and kill wolves. They shoot these animals from the air or chase them to exhaustion before landing and shooting them. Alaska's aerial hunting of wolves and other wildlife is brutal and unnecessary.

State-permitted hunters shoot wolves from the air or chase them down to exhaustion and shoot them when they land. Over the last years, nearly 800 wolves have been killed this way. States like Wyoming and Idaho in the Greater Yellowstone region want to use this cruel practice to kill wolves.

Rep. George Miller (CA) has introduced the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, legislation to close a federal loophole and curb Alaska's aerial hunting program and prevent programs like it from spreading to other places. Miller needs your support to win passage of this measure.

Congress passed a law thirty five years ago to put an end to aerial hunting. But Alaska is exploiting a loophole in federal law to resume the practice, not only for wolves, but bears as well. Hundreds of scientists have condemned what Alaska is doing. It's time to stop aerial hunting once and for all.
